The pepito de crema or petisús, is a delicious bun with an elongated shape that is usually filled with pastry cream. Its appearance is tempting, as is its taste. A perfect recipe for children's snack.

  • 4 loaves of milk.
  • Mild olive oil.
  • 250 ml of milk.
  • 60 gr of sugar.
  • 2 eggs
  • Cornstarch.

1. Begin by preparing the pastry cream. To do this, you have to heat the milk over low heat in a small saucepan with 30 g of sugar; and remove it from the heat before it begins to boil.

2. Crack the eggs and separate the whites from the yolks. Beat the yolks in a bowl with the rest of the sugar and 2 level tablespoons of cornstarch. Make sure there are no lumps.

3. Pour the milk you just heated into the previous mixture and beat until everything is integrated. Now, pour the mixture into the saucepan and reheat it over low heat while stirring with a few rods. The cream will start to thicken. Remove from heat before it starts to boil and cover with cling film until cool.

4. Meanwhile, lightly fry the milk breads in a frying pan. They should be fried over low heat for about a minute on both sides. Let the muffins cool on kitchen paper, this will release excess oil.

5. Once cold, roll them in sugar and open them in half (without cutting them completely). You only need a small opening to fill them. Put the pastry cream into a pastry bag and start filling. To keep them in the fridge, cover them with plastic wrap.
